Trail 91 km

In an area surrounded by beautiful nature, with fjords and forest areas, the longest challenge begins in Ecotrail Bergen.
The ferry service that provides access to the islands in Austevoll municipality departs from Krokeide ferry pier. The start takes place at the ferry pier, right on the border with Bergen municipality.

It doesn't take long before the asphalt is replaced with a more gentle surface. Further along the path you will soon get a magnificent view west towards Marsteinen, Austevoll and Sotra. The first eight kilometers have a distinct wilderness feel, with marshy areas and lots of bare rock. Then the trail descends towards more urban areas at Fana Cultural Park. Here follows about a kilometer and a half of flat terrain on asphalt, before you enter the pedestrian and cycle path that between 1894 and 1935 was the route of the Osbanen railway.

From the end of Klokkarvatnet, the trail turns left into the forest, continuing up to Smøråsfjellet and Militærveien. This section offers a number of cultural monuments – including war memorials, remains of house ruins and old stable areas. After passing Valle, you cross the path under the characteristic high-voltage power lines that run over Birkelandsfjellet.

After a varied terrain with asphalt, paths, hiking and tractor roads and marsh areas, the high mountain part of the trail starts at Espelandshallen, where the 65-kilometer section also starts.

Ikke varm mat, men lettfordøyelig og raske karbs.
